Ramco Litigation Funding participated in the 10th edition of the Arbitration Open 2024, which took place in Madrid on 8 and 9 May, where the latest trends in international arbitration were discussed.
Ramco was a Global Sponsor of the Arbitration Open and also organised the first panel of the event dedicated to Investment Arbitration: Trends and Application to Third-Party Funding, in which our CEO Cristina Soler participated as a panellist.
The Ramco Litigation Funding panel, which took place on 8 May, was moderated by Claudia Frutos-Peterson, Managing Partner of Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP and included the participation of the following speakers:

- Ignacio del Cuvillo, Director of Legal Corporate Services & Finances at REPSOL
- José Julio Figueroa, General Counsel of ACCIONA.
- Carlos Gutiérrez García, Director of Litigation at Siemens Gamesa.
The panel reflected on the challenges presented by the Investment Arbitration sector and its regulation, as well as the application of Third-Party Funding to Investment arbitration. This year’s event, the 10th edition of the Arbitration Open 2024, brought together a record number of arbitration practitioners from 25 countries both virtually and in person.
Participants expressed concern about the length and cost of investment arbitration. In this context, Third-Party Funding is a solution to speed up the enforcement of arbitral awards and share risks.
